Inserts the new tool into the destination list box above the selected tool. Opens when the Insert button is clicked in the Customize dialog box (Workspace > Customize).
Used to select the version of the tool's icon to modify — small or large. The selected version is in the pixel grid.
Clicking the small button has the same effect as turning on Options menu > Edit Small Icon. Clicking the large button has the same effect as turning off Options menu > Edit Small Icon.
Contains graphical tools that are used to modify the tool's icon. These tools are similar to those in many bitmap editing (“paint”) applications. For more information about using these tools, see Modifying tools.

Determines whether the tool icon can have multiple colors.
Each tile in the pixel grid is a magnified representation of a pixel in the icon. The the row number and column number of the pixel in the grid that is currently (or most recently) selected or modified is displayed underneath the grid.
Selecting a tile sets the active color for drawing in the pixel grid to the color of that tile.
If on (the default), keying in the string specified in the Key-in field into the Key-in window will result in the selection of the tool in tool boxes into which you have inserted the tool.
Sets the tool tip text. The maximum length is 80 characters. The text should be the same as the tool name and should not exceed 30 characters.
Sets the tool description displayed in the status bar when the pointer is positioned on the tool. The maximum length is 80 characters.
Sets the key-in (or key-in sequence) that activates when the tool is selected.
Accepts the changes to the tool and closes the dialog box.
Closes the dialog box without making any changes to the tool.
Negates changes to the tool.
Clears the selected pixels and inserts them in a buffer for subsequent pasting.
Copies the selected pixels to a buffer for subsequent pasting.
Replaces the selected pixels with the pixels most recently Cut or Copied to the buffer.
Clears (applies the background color to) the pixels selected with the Selection tool.
Clears (applies the background color to) all of the pixels in the pixel grid.
If on, the small version of the icon is in the pixel grid. If off, the large version is there.
The user preference Tool Size determines whether MicroStation's tool boxes contain small or large tools and whether Edit Small Icon is on or off by default. The tool boxes contain small icons by default.
Turning on Edit Small Icon has the same effect as clicking the small button in the button bar adjacent to the upper left corner of the pixel grid. Turning off Edit Small Icon has the same effect as clicking the large button.
If on, the color palette selection is the active color for drawing in the pixel grid. If off, the icon background color (gray) is the active color. Use Foreground Color is on by default.
If on, each pixel is displayed with an outline in the pixel grid. Display Grid is on by default.
If on, modifications to the version of the icon in the pixel grid are reflected in both the large and small versions.
Adjust this setting as you modify differently shaped portions of the icon. |
