Tool Frames work much the same as Tool Boxes, so the description of how to customize tool boxes (below) also applies to Tool Frames. Tool boxes cannot contain other tool boxes, but tool frames can. Tool frames can only contain icon buttons and tool boxes.
Sets the interface from which to select tools.
Lists the tools available in the selected interface. From this list box you can copy tools to the destination list box to the right. The tools can be listed by tool box or alphabetically. To copy a tool, you must first select it.
Double-clicking a tool in this list box copies it into the destination list box. You can also copy a tool by dragging it into the destination list box. Double-clicking a tool box expands it to show the list of tools in the tool box.
Lists all available tools (as per the selected interface) in their parent tool boxes in the Available Tools list box.
Lists all available tools (as per the selected interface) alphabetically in the Available Tools list box.
Copies the selected tool name in the Available Tools source list box into the destination list box to the right. The copied tool name is inserted above the selected tool name in the destination list box.
The following techniques are shortcuts for copying a tool name to the destination list box:
Double-click the tool name in the Available Tools list box.
Drag the tool name from the Available Tools list box to the desired location in the destination list box.
Sets the tool box to customize. Choose from the list of open tool boxes or Create Tool Box.
To remove or modify a tool or customize its icon, you must first select it.
Double-clicking a tool in the list opens the Insert Tool dialog box.
To reorder tools, drag their list box entries. To remove a tool, drag its list box entry away from the list box. |
Choosing Create Tool Box opens the Create Tool Box dialog box, which is used to name a new tool box to which tools can be copied; this also clears the destination tool list. |
Provides a field where you can key in the name for the new customized tool box.
Saves modifications to the chosen destination tool box to a modification resource file.
Opens the Insert Tool dialog box, which looks like the Modify Tool dialog box described below. The new tool is inserted into the destination list box above the selected tool.
Opens the Insert Tool dialog box, which is used to modify a tool's icon (graphical label) or the key-in that is used to select the tool. An icon is composed of dots called pixels. Each icon has a small (23×23 pixels) and a large (31×31 pixels) version.
Another way to open the Modify Tool dialog box is to double-click the tool whose icon you want to modify in the Customize dialog box's destination list box. |
