Preferences dialog box

Used to set user preferences — settings that control how MicroStation operates. Opens when Workspace > Preferences is chosen.

Category

Lists the logical categories into which preferences are grouped. Selecting a category causes the appropriate controls to be displayed to the right of the category list.

Descriptions of the controls for setting preferences are organized by Category beginning with Compatibility.

Preference resource name

(Accessible only if Description is selected in the Category list box.) Sets the description of the user preference file as a means of relating it to the workspace(s) of which it is a component. For more information about workspaces, see Workspace Fundamentals.

Focus Item Description

Shows the description of the item in the dialog box that has the input focus.

OK

Accepts changes made to preferences (in all categories) and closes the dialog box.

Cancel

Closes the dialog box without changing preferences.

Defaults

(Accessible only if Description is selected in the Category list box.) Sets all preferences to the defaults associated with the active workspace user interface component.
