Modify component dialog boxes — common controls

The following controls are each in more than one of the dialog boxes for modifying components. The appropriate dialog box for modifying the type of component selected in the Edit Settings dialog box opens when Modify is chosen from the settings box's Edit menu.

Key-in

If on, sets the key-in that will be automatically activated when the component is selected in the Select Settings window. The following table shows where to find key-ins commonly used with each component type:

Level

If on, sets the Active Level when the component is selected in the Select Settings window.

Color

If on, sets the Active Color when the component is selected in the Select Settings window.

Style

If on, sets the active (Line) Style when the component is selected in the Select Settings window.

Choosing Custom from the option menu opens the Select Line Style dialog box, which is used to select a custom line style.

Line Style Scale

If on, sets the scale factor that will be applied as a modifier to the line style when the component is selected in the Select Settings window. This scale factor is applied before the active scale settings group is considered. See Apply Drawing Scale.

Weight

If on, sets the Active (Line) Weight when the component is selected in the Select Settings window. The weight limit is 15.

Angle

If on, sets the value to which the Active Angle will be set when the component is selected in the Select Settings window.

Cell

If on, sets the cell that will be designated the Active Cell when the component is selected in the Select Settings window.

Shared

If on when the component is selected, the component will be placed as a shared cell.

Scale

If on, the x-, y-, and z- scales for cell placement will be set based on the X, Y, and Z settings and the Apply Drawing Scale and Cell Work Units settings when the component is selected in the Select Settings window.

X

If Scale is on, sets the default horizontal scale factor (x-scale) for cell placement when the component is selected in the Select Settings window.

Y

If Scale is on, sets the default vertical scale factor (y-scale) for cell placement when the component is selected in the Select Settings window.

Z

If Scale is on, sets the default depth scale factor (z-scale) for cell placement when the component is selected in the Select Settings window.

Cell Work Units

Defines the Working Units used to create cells. This setting is used to automatically adjust the default x-, y-, and z- scales by the ratio of the active design file's working units to the cell library's working units.

Apply Drawing Scale

If on, the default x-, y-, and z- scales are adjusted as specified in the active scale settings group when the component is selected in the Select Settings window. The specification is expressed as the number of paper units per design file master unit. (If a scale settings group is not active, a factor of 1.0 is used.)

Font

If on, sets the font that will be designated the Active Font when the component is selected in the Select Settings window.

Use Paper Size

If on, size and spacing specifications will be adjusted as specified in the active scale settings group when the component is selected in the Select Settings window. See Apply Drawing Scale.

Units

Match

Matches the component's settings to the next identified element. For Cell and Text components, if a scale settings group is active, cell scales and text sizes are automatically computed.

Match is not useful for matching multi-lines and dimensions.

Save

Saves modifications to the component definition and closes the dialog box.

Close

Closes the dialog box without saving modifications to the component definition.
