The settings on the expanded Select Settings window are similar to the ones on the small dialog box.

To conserve screen space, you can dock the window to the top or bottom of the application window.

When the window is docked, the pop-up menu is available, but Options > Show Menu Bar is disabled. The labels on the option button and combo boxes are hidden when the window is docked.
Lists the names of drawing settings groups in the open settings file, which by default is the file indicated by the MS_SETTINGS configuration variable. The selected group is the active drawing settings group.
Lists the name and type of each component of the active drawing settings group. Selecting a component does the following:
All settings associated with the component are set as specified in the component definition.
If a Key-in is defined for the component, the corresponding tool is selected, letting you place an element(s) without using a tool box.

Key-in: ACTIVE SETTINGS <component_type> <group_name:component_name>
Opens the Open Existing Settings File dialog box, which is used to open a settings file. The default directory is pointed to by the MS_SETTINGSDIR configuration variable. The controls are analogous to those in the Open dialog box.
Key-in: SETMGR FILE OPEN [filename]
Opens the Edit Settings dialog box, which is used to define, modify, and delete settings groups.
Opens the Select Scale dialog box, which is used to select a scale settings group and make its settings active. These settings specify the relationship between plotting units and design master units.
The list box lists the scale settings groups in the open settings file that have design units that match the active design file's master units. Double-clicking a group makes its settings active and closes the dialog box. Clicking OK makes the settings in the selected group active and closes the dialog box.
Key-in: ACTIVE SETTINGS DWGSCALE <group_name>
Opens the Select Working Units dialog box, which is used to select a working units settings group and make its settings active.
The list box lists the working units settings groups in the open settings files. Double-clicking a group makes its settings active and closes the dialog box. Clicking OK makes the settings in the selected group active and closes the dialog box. An alert box opens for confirming the adjustment of the working units settings.
Key-in: ACTIVE SETTINGS WORKUNITS <group_name>
Opens the Select Dimension Style dialog box, which is used to select a dimension style.
Key-in: ACTIVE DIMENSION <style_name>
Opens the Select Multi-line Style dialog box, which is used to select a multi-line style.
Key-in: ACTIVE MLINE <style_name>
Sorts the component list by name.

(small, dockable Select Settings window only) Hides the menu bar to conserve screen space. When the menu bar is hidden, the name of this menu item changes to Show Menu Bar, which enables you turn the menu bar back on. (On the smaller Select Settings window, regardless of whether or not the menu bar is showing, all the menus on the menu bar are still available through a right-click menu.)
If the Select Settings window is not expanded, selecting Options > Large Dialog expands the window interface. If the Select Settings window is expanded, selecting Options > Small Dialog returns the window to a smaller, dockable window.
