Used to set general CGM export settings. Opens when Settings > General is chosen in the Export CGM File dialog box.

CGM Export Settings dialog box

Settings File

Shows the active CGM export settings file.

View

In 3D, sets the view that determines the DGN file orientation that is used in the CGM picture.

Color Mode

Can be Index or Direct.

Translation Units

You can select whether units in the CGM file are based on either:

Number of Colors

Sets the maximum number of colors in the CGM file.

VDC Type

The 2D Cartesian virtual device coordinates in the CGM file can be Integer or Real.

Metric Scale

Set the number of millimeters in a VDC unit.

VDC Integer Precision

If VDC Type is set to Integer, sets the size of integers in the virtual device coordinates.

Integer Precision

Sets the size of integers in the CGM file.

VDC Real Format

Sets the type of the VDC real numbers — Float-(1,8,23)
see footnote 163 or Fixed-(16,16).

Real Format

Sets the type of real coordinates — Float-(1,8,23)
see footnote 164 or Fixed-(16,16).

Spline Segments

These settings control how B-splines are converted.

Setting

Variable

Controls number of

SurfU

SURFU

Faces used to approximate a surface (U-direction).

SurfV

SURFV

Faces used to approximate a surface (V-direction).

Stroke Text

If on and text cannot be interpreted correctly, the text is drawn as a line string.

User Scale

Define the scale factor for Scaled Line, Edge width.

Scaled Line, Edge width

If on, the line and edge width can be specified as a measure in VDC units, a scale factor to be applied to a device-dependent nominal line width at interpretation time, a fraction of the device view surface or a measure in millimeters.

Make Lower Left Origin

Set the lower left corner as the origin; the default is the upper right corner.

Override Background Color

When exporting, set your own background color to override what you have in the DGN.

RGB Background

Combined quantities of red, green and blue to produce colors for the background.

RGB Foreground

Combined quantities of red, green and blue to produce colors for the foreground.
