CALS is an acronym for the United States Department of Defense Computer-aided Acquisition and Logistic Support initiative. The goal of CALS is to integrate and standardize the digital data received from Department of Defense suppliers. The CALS IGES specification is a series of different classes of IGES files. Each class is a subset of the IGES entity types, as specified in MIL-D-28000A.
