Dimension Size Perpendicular to Element (DIMENSION SIZE PERPENDICULAR ELEMENT)

The DIMENSION SIZE PERPENDICULAR ELEMENT key-in is used to dimension a distance perpendicularly from an element.

To dimension a distance perpendicularly from an element (at the point at which the element is identified)
  1. Key in DIMENSION SIZE PERPENDICULAR ELEMENT.

  2. Enter a data point to identify the element and to position the base of the dimension element.
For accurate dimensioning, preview the data point with a tentative point snapped to the element. If you enter a data point without snapping, the element is identified if it falls within the locate tolerance of the pointer, but the dimension base point will likely not be precisely on the element.

  3. Enter a data point to define the extension line length and position the dimension.
The dimension is placed with no extension line at the end that lies on the element identified.
