Drop Actor


Use it!

Used to convert (drop) an actor back into its components. When an actor is dropped, all attached actors are dropped as well. You can, however, drop an actor that is attached to another actor without affecting the parent.

When working with this tool, you can identify and accept the actor graphically, or you can double-click its name in the list box that appears when Display Actor List is on.

If on, a list box containing the names of existing actors is displayed. See Working with actors.

To drop an actor into its components
  1. Select the Drop Actor tool.

  2. Identify the actor.
    The actor highlights. If there are attached actors, they too highlight.

  3. Accept the actor(s).

Key-in: ANIMATOR ACTOR DROP

Since actors are simply cells, they can also be dropped to their components with MicroStation's Drop Element tool or modified with any MicroStation tool that can be used with cells.
