The Create Curves tool box has tools that are used to draw curves and extract iso-parametric lines from a solid or B-spline surface.
To |
Select in the Curves tool box |
---|---|
Place a B-spline curve. |
Create a B-spline curve that passes through a set of points while maintaining user-defined tangent directions at those points. |
Place a composite curve, which can have line strings, arcs, or Bézier curves as components. |
Place or construct a complex chain of arcs that passes through a given set of points. |
Place a parabola, hyperbola, or partial ellipse. |
Place a clothoid or Archimedes or logarithmic spiral. |
Place a helix in a 3D design. |
Construct a B-spline curve that is the same distance from the identified element at all points. |
Extract a B-spline curve(s) from a solid or a B-spline surface. |
Place a curve by defining its mathematical formula. |
Key-in: DIALOG TOOLBOX CURVECREATE [OFF | ON | TOGGLE]
To construct a curve along the intersection of two 3D elements, use the Construct Trim tool in the Modify Surfaces tool box. |
B-spline curve and surface settings are set in the B-spline and 3D dialog box, which is opened by choosing B-spline and 3D from the Element menu. |
