Raster Warp

Use it!

Used to adjust the size and shape of a raster image with a combination of move, scale, rotate, and skew options.

Tool SettingEffect
Method

Defines how the raster image is to be adjusted. For each option, the adjustment is made by defining points on the image, followed by monument points in the design file. The number of points required varies with the option used.

  • Align (Move, Scale)
  • — Two points (only) are required and scaling is uniform along the x- and y-axes.
  • Similitude (Move, Scale, Rotate)
  • — Requires a minimum of two points. Where more than two points are entered, a best fit is produced from the points. If more than two points are entered, then the source and destination points may not line up.
  • Affine (Move, Scale, Rotate, Skew)
  • — Requires a minimum of three points and then produces a best fit. If more than three points are entered, the source and destination points may not line up.
  • Clear Last Point
  • — Clears the last data point placed. Successive clicking of the Clear Last Point button clears previous points in the reverse order to that in which they were placed. That is, the last point placed is the first one cleared. This lets you delete incorrectly placed points without losing previous correct points.
To warp a raster reference
  1. Select the Raster Warp tool.

  2. Identify the raster file to warp, with a data point, or by selecting a file in the Raster Manager dialog box.

  3. Enter a point to define a point in the raster image to transform.

  4. Enter a data point to define the monument point — the point in the design where the point in the raster image (from step 3) is to be displayed.

  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 to define the required number of points.

  6. Reset to warp the image.
