EDIT AE

Used to edit the Active Entity.

If Forms is set to Text Screen in the Database dialog box, the edit screen specified in the form table is used for editing. If an edit form is not specified or if Forms is set to None, an error message is displayed.

To edit the Active Entity
  1. Key in: EDIT AE
The edit screen form is displayed.

  2. Edit the Active Entity.
If the screen form has more than one page, press <PgDn> or click the Page Down button to advance.

  3. Click the OK button.

Depending on the Linkage Mode (see Setting Linkage Mode), editing the Active Entity can change a row in the database. If Linkage Mode is set to New, the Active Entity is a prototype record; editing the Active Entity does not affect any rows. However, if Linkage Mode is not set to New, editing the Active Entity changes the corresponding row. Linkage Mode is set in the Database dialog box.

EDIT AE is ODBC/XBASE-specific and requires text-based forms. You can use the Visual SQL Query Builder dialog box (Settings > Database > Query Builder) to assign database linkages.
