Adjust Reference Colors dialog box

Used to modify or adjust the element colors in an attached reference. Each color in the color table is defined using the HSV (hue, saturation, value) color model.

Adjustment Factor

If on, multiplies the Value and Saturation for each color in the color table by an adjustment factor.

Fixed

If on, applies the Value and Saturation to each color in the color table.

To use the same color for all elements in a reference, turn on both Fixed and Hue Fixed for All Colors. Use the Hue slider to adjust the color.

Value

Sets the brightness that is applied to each color in the color table.

To lower the brightness for the colors, move the Value slider to the left.

Saturation

Sets the contrast that is applied to each color in the color table.

To lower the contrast for the colors, move the Saturation slider to the left.

Hue Fixed for All Colors

If on, applies the same hue to each color in the color table.

To use the same color for all elements in a reference, turn on both Fixed and Hue Fixed for All Colors. Use the Hue slider to adjust the color.

Hue

Sets the tint for each color in the color table.

Print Adjusted Colors

If on, uses the adjusted reference colors in the display and in printed output. If off, the adjusted reference colors are used in the display only.

OK

Applies the color adjustments, redraws the selected references, and closes the dialog box.

Cancel

Closes the dialog box without applying the color adjustment.

Apply

Applies the color adjustments and redraws the selected references.

Key-in: reference adjustcolors <value, saturation, reference_specification>

The syntax allows wildcards, matching both the reference filename and logical name, as is the case for all REFERENCE key-ins. For example, keying in REFERENCE ADJUSTCOLORS 80,50 floor* adjusts the color table for all references that match the specification “floor*” to 80% value, 50% saturation. If you omit the reference specification, MicroStation will use the selections in the Reference dialog box, if any, or otherwise, will prompt you to identify a reference.

The values that you select are stored in the reference attachment element.
