Active Line Style

If one of the standard line styles is chosen, sets the Active Line Style to that line style and changes the line styles of selected elements.

The Active Line Style specifies the line style of an element upon placement, and if set to a standard line style, is stored as a value in the 0-7 range.

If elements are selected, their line styles will change to the newly selected line style.

If one or more elements are selected, the line style of each is changed to the chosen line style.

Line_style can be a standard line style number (0-7) or the name of a custom line style.

Line Style can also be set ByCell or ByLevel. If ByCell is selected, when a cell is placed the active line style is used in place of the line style used when the cell was created. If ByLevel is selected, when an element is placed the line style defined for the active level is used to display the element.

Key-in: ACTIVE STYLE [line_style]

The Line Style submenu remembers the four most used line styles and lists those styles above the complete list of available line styles.

Choosing Save Settings from the File menu saves the active line style setting to the DGN file so it may be used as the initial line style setting the next time the DGN file is opened.

ByCell is only enabled, by default, in DWG workmode. You can enable ByCell in DGN workmode by adding _USTN_CAPABILITY > –CAPABILITY_NO_BYCELL to the workmode.cfg configuration file.
