Tag to Database dialog box

Used to export tag data from the design file into an existing database table. Opens when File > Export > To Database is chosen in the Tag Sets settings box.

Tag Sets

The Tag Sets list box displays all tag sets present in the current design file.

Export tags

The Export tags list box displays all tag sets that can be exported to the database.

Add

Adds a tag set from the Tag Sets list box to the Export tags list box. The Add button is enabled when you select a tag set in the Tag Sets list box that is not displayed in the Export tags list box.

Remove

Deletes a tag set from the Export tags list box. The Remove button is enabled when there is a tag set in the Export tags list box.

Details

Opens the Tag Details dialog box which displays the tags related to the selected exported tag set. This dialog box contains information about how the tags of a tag set are unloaded into database data

The options in this dialog box are:

• A list box which lists the Name and Type of all the tags in the selected tag set. The listed tag types are among the standard types supported by MicroStation's tag interface.

• Export to table check box — if on, lets you selectively choose the tag for export. The selected tag is inserted into the column in the table which has the same name as the tag.

• OK button — when clicked, exports the tag and closes the dialog box.

• Cancel button — cancels the export action and closes the dialog box.

Export

Scans the design file and exports the selected tag sets. When a tag element is found, a new row is added to the database table which matches the tag set name and structure. The mslink column must be present in the table.

File menu > Reload tag sets

Reloads the original tag sets.
