Select By Save Sets dialog box

Used to save and retrieve sets of search criteria settings. Opens when Selector Save Sets… is chosen from the Tools menu in the Select By Attributes dialog box.

(Filename)

Identifies the open resource file whose sets are listed in the Save Set Description list box.

Save Set Description

Lists sets in the open resource file with descriptions. The maximum number of sets in a resource file is 30. To delete or overwrite a set, you must first select it. If Use All Save Sets in resource file is off, selecting a set sets the search criteria in the Select By dialog box.

Sets the description of a new set to be composed of the active search criteria. Clicking the Add button actually creates the set.

Use All Save Sets in resource file

If on, search criteria in all sets in the open resource file are applied to element selection, display, or location operations initiated in the Select By dialog box. That is, if an element is found using any criteria, in any set, the operations are performed on the element.

Key-in: SELECTBY SAVESETS

Add

Creates a set composed of the active search criteria (as specified in the Select By dialog box). The description specified in the field below the Save Set Description list box is assigned to the new set.

Delete

Deletes the selected set.

Save

Overwrites the selected set with the active search criteria as specified in the Select By dialog box.

File menu > Open Resource

Opens the Select By Resource dialog box, which is used to open a resource file that contains sets of search criteria settings. The dialog box controls are analogous to those in the Open dialog box (File > Open).

Key-in: SELECTBY OPENRESOURCE <filename>

The SELECTBY OPENRESOURCE key-in not only opens the specified resource file, it also sets the search criteria in the Select By dialog box to those stored as the first set (number “1”) in the file.

File menu > Save Resource As

Opens the Select By Resource dialog box, which is used to save the sets listed in the Save Set Description list box in a new resource file. The dialog box controls are analogous to those in the Save As dialog box (File > Save As).
