Color

Contains controls to set color options for the selected image. Fields that display vary according to whether the selected image is binary or non-binary.

Color tab of Attachment Settings dialog box for monochrome (binary) raster files

For non-binary raster files, the following editable fields are available:

Tint Color

Lets you set the tint color for the selected image.

Invert

If ON, colors of the selected image are inverted. This is similar to making a negative of the image.

Transparent

If ON, the settings for Transparent Color and All Colors are applied to the selected image.

If OFF, the settings for Transparent Color and All Colors are ignored.

Transparent Color

(Transparent ON only) Sets a specific transparent color and the degree of transparency.

For paletted images, the color picker offers all the colors of the image palette. For RGB and RGBA images, the color picker opens a dialog letting you choose an RGB color.

If the image has a transparency value higher than 0, then the color transparency will have an effect only if its value is higher than the image's transparency value. That is, pixels are displayed with the maximum transparency.

Transparency may vary from 0% to 100%, with a value of 0% indicating no transparency at all, while a value of 100% indicates complete transparency in the selected color.

All Colors

(Transparent ON only) Sets the degree of transparency, to be applied to the whole image. Its value may vary from 0% to 100%, with a value of 0% indicating no transparency at all, while a value of 100% indicates complete transparency.

Descartes allows multiple transparent colors, and translucency can be applied to this set of colors. Thus, the label is "All Colors" because, in Raster Manager, translucency is applied to all the colors rather than a specific subset.

Contrast and Brightness

Lets you set the contrast and brightness for the selected image.

For binary raster files, the following editable fields are available:

Colors

The binary color picker is displayed by two squares with the colors selected. The upper square represents the foreground color and the lower square represents the background color. The colors may be changed by clicking on the squares.

Invert

If ON, the binary color picker is inverted.

Transparent

If ON, the Transparent settings for Foreground and Background are enabled and applied to the selected image.

If OFF, the Transparent settings for Foreground and Background are disabled.

(Transparent) Foreground

(Transparent ON only) Sets the amount of transparency applied to the Foreground color. Its value may vary from 0% to 100%, with a value of 0% indicating no transparency at all, while a value of 100% indicates complete transparency.

(Transparent) Background

(Transparent ON only) Sets the amount of transparency applied to the Background color. Its value may vary from 0% to 100%, with a value of 0% indicating no transparency at all, while a value of 100% indicates complete transparency.
